Starting Waitangi 2019

Every year thousands of people from around the nation flock to Waitangi for the annual celebrations. Waitangi is a very significant, and very strategic place in our nation.

The Hikoi of the Lord will gather in the Pearls Marquee at Te Tii  Marae, Waitangi from Sun 3rd to Wed 6th Feb 2019.  Our marquee will be an open forum prayer tent where we can “meet and greet, connect, gather, pray, share and korero.

On Waitangi Day, Wed the 6th Feb at 12.00pm, we will travel to Oihi Bay where the first Gospel sermon was preached to pray, worship and dedicate the Hikoi to the Lord.

On Thurs the 7th Feb at 10am, we will leave Waitangi, drive to Cape Reinga for the official 2.00pm launch of God’s Hikoi into the nation – into the Land of the Long White Cloud.

From the Cape to the Bluff to the Chatham’s, that’s “40 Marae over 12 weeks and every 3rd day we Rise”.

We invite you to Join us!    All Welcome!

Accomodation:  For those needing accomodation, motels book out fast, however, there are plenty of camping sites at Waitangi for $20pp per night.

Waitangi is the birthplace of our nations founding documents, the 1835 He Whakaputanga – Declaration of Independence, and Te Tiriti O Waitangi. and where the first Christian sermon was preached in 1814 by Samuel Marsden.

The Footprint of Faith is deep and wide in our land.  Pacific Pearls have been attending Waitangi for since 2017, and Pearls founder Stephanie Harawira has been attending Waitangi for there last 23 years. Click here to view:  Pearls 2017, Pearls 2018
